Howdy!
My name is Ioana. Like iguana without the 'g', as I've told almost everyone I've met in the past decade. I'm a former Michigander & Bostonian, current Seattleite attending graduate school at UW for bioengineering, and I use she/her pronouns.

I fell in love with hiking while living in New England, and realized landscape photography was a great excuse to catch my breath while slogging uphill. Landscape photography has since grown to encompass portraiture as well. I love helping folks who feel awkward in front of the camera (myself included!) feel comfortable, and would describe my photography style as candid and goofy with vibrant, true-to-life colors.  In both hiking and photography, I'm an amateur; I'm working with mostly refurbed gear, use natural light (read: I don't yet own off-camera flash), and I'm never the person logging the most miles or attempting the hardest route. I'm still learning how to be "outdoorsy" without wholesale diving into the consumption and conquest of nature that our society cultivates. This website is my attempt to synthesize life's adventures and put a hard drive full of photos to some use. If you're interested in getting some portraits taken, please fill out the contact form below!
